Bent Melchior Prize 2024

Vulnerable people on the margins of society are rarely portrayed in a positive light. We at Brobyggerne want to change that with this year's presentation of the Bent Melchior Award and a gala evening entitled "Vulnerable and Valued." Here, we put people on the margins at the center and honor a special passionate soul who has made a difference with their efforts on behalf of vulnerable citizens.

The gala evening will take place at the magnificent Moltkes Palæ in Copenhagen, which has generously donated the venue and catering for this special event. Participants on stage and in the audience will include ministers, cultural figures, business leaders, opinion makers, and, not least, vulnerable citizens and their representatives, who are the ones this event is all about.

The evening's program will evoke both smiles and seriousness as well-known artists, trailblazers, and personalities entertain and discuss life as and for vulnerable people. It will be an evening you won't want to miss!

November 12, 2024
, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

After-work dialogue: The element of betrayal

Wherever people are together, there is a risk of abuse. We see this dehumanization on hidden camera shows—but we don't see the backstories of powerlessness, systemic failure, caregiver burnout, moral stress, silence, and psychological insecurity. Dehumanization is one of the wild problems of our time, and it can't be solved by shaming, scapegoating, or quick fixes.

Come and learn more about betrayal, how it occurs, and how to intervene in time. Sune Rosdahl has been working with betrayal for the past eight years, and at the after-work dialogue, Özlem Cekic and Sune will talk about the nature of betrayal and the wrong turns and ways out of betrayal.

There will be opportunities for questions and dialogue.

Time:
May 13, 5:00–6:30 p.m. (doors open at 4:30 p.m.)

Location:
