Dialog Talks – When dialogue builds bridges. The bridge builders are turning 5.

The world has changed significantly in just the last five years. Wars have broken out, a pandemic has raged, artificial intelligence has taken off, and climate change has caused both floods and droughts.

Through all these changes, a clear idea and a small association have grown larger. In response to polarization and the sometimes hopeless world around us, we at Brobyggerne have brought people together to build bridges and create hope that we can do it. Together.

Many thousands of cups of dialogue coffee have been served, and more than 10,000 bridge builders have signed up to insist on dialogue. That is worth celebrating. That is why we are inviting you to the Bridge Builders' 5th birthday and open dialogue house on August 26.

Here, we look both forward and backward to gain a better understanding of the importance of dialogue and how things actually stand with division as a challenge and dialogue as the answer. Are the prospects ahead bright or bleak? Has dialogue gained ground or been forced back? And how should we view and understand the importance of conversation in a number of different areas?

Come and hear, among others, author and professor emeritus Ditlev Tamm talk about dialogue in the judicial system, author and former Secretary General of Danish Refugee Council Andreas Kamm on dialogue in emergency relief work, director Lisbeth Jessen on dialogue in violent relationships, teacher and conflict mediator Marianne Munis on dialogue, and Secretary General Özlem Cekic on dialogue coffee with disagreements.

Bent Melchior Prize 2024

Vulnerable people on the margins of society are rarely portrayed in a positive light. We at Brobyggerne want to change that with this year's presentation of the Bent Melchior Award and a gala evening entitled "Vulnerable and Valued." Here, we put people on the margins at the center and honor a special passionate soul who has made a difference with their efforts on behalf of vulnerable citizens.

The gala evening will take place at the magnificent Moltkes Palæ in Copenhagen, which has generously donated the venue and catering for this special event. Participants on stage and in the audience will include ministers, cultural figures, business leaders, opinion makers, and, not least, vulnerable citizens and their representatives, who are the ones this event is all about.

The evening's program will evoke both smiles and seriousness as well-known artists, trailblazers, and personalities entertain and discuss life as and for vulnerable people. It will be an evening you won't want to miss!

Time and place:

November 12, 2024
, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Moltkes Palæ
Dronningens Tværgade 2
