In 2022, the Bent Melchior Prize was held in The Black Diamond. The award ceremony was held in collaboration with the Danish Jewish Museum, which is a cultural history museum that contributes to safeguarding Denmark's Jewish cultural heritage.
The Bent Melchior Prize and the beautiful statuette by Jens Galschiøt went to Henrik Vestergaard Stokholm, rector of Nyborg Gymnasium, for his great efforts to ensure education for deported young asylum seekers. His acceptance speech can be read below.
