In 2023, the award ceremony was held in the Parliament Hall at Christiansborg.

The Bent Melchior Prize and the beautiful statuette by Jens Galschiøtt went to Jakob Skovgaard-Petersen, Professor of Islamic Studies at the Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies at the University of Copenhagen, for always insisting that knowledge, dialog and tolerance are the wise path to tread.
