Come celebrate Constitution Day!
Join us for three free events in Aarhus, Odense, and Copenhagen, where we’ll be celebrating Constitution Day.
We often talk about democracy as a form of government, a system, or a tradition—something stable and taken for granted. But in reality, democracy only thrives if we make use of it—if we dare to take a stand, speak our minds, and stay engaged in the conversation, even when it’s difficult.
On June 3, we will therefore be singing in to welcome democracy in Odense in collaboration with the Music Library, where Members of Parliament Trine Bramsen (S) and Katrine Daugaard (LA) will be performing: Sign up here
On June 4, we’re heading to Aarhus to discuss one of today’s most contentious topics: Danish identity. There, Özlem Cekic and her guests will explore the question of whether Danish identity is a cultural or legal affiliation: Sign up here
On June 8, we’re heading to Copenhagen, where two former ministers of culture, Jytte Hilden (S) and Bertel Haarder (V), will spend an afternoon with Brobyggerne, with time set aside for group singing and reflection. Özlem Cekic will lead the session as we use short presentations, songs, and shared reflection to focus on the question of what it takes for us to keep democracy alive: Sign up here
Democracy requires taking an active stand and personal courage. Democracy is something we do—not just something we have. That is why we must celebrate it.
It will be insightful, it will be thought-provoking, it will be bridge-building.
